Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter of Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father worked as a school teacher while her mother was an at-home mom. Michael Dennis Kevin, her two older brothers. McCormick started singing and performing from a young age. When McCormick was six years young, she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency phoned and asked if she'd be interested in entering the show business. McCormick got her first big work in 1964, when she appeared in a television commercial for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the following year, she starred for another company's Chatty Cathy Doll and was immediately chosen to play the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp and ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick won an audition in 1969 from over 1,200 youngsters to be the oldest of the three twin daughters in the TV series The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed together with Robert Reed. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick's memoir Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was published in 2008. In it she revealed the fact that McCormick nearly lost her virginity while on set of the series during the fifth season when it was played by Barry Williams. The actress was only 16 when she was in the scene; he was 19. The incident would have happened, she says. The timing for our marriage wasn't right.
