
Jennifer has always wanted to be an all-purpose superstar. In her youth Jennifer was a fan of many different musical styles, mostly Afro-Caribbean songs like merengue salsa, and the bachata. Also, she was a fan of popular music like hip-hop pop, hip-hop and R&B. Although she was a huge enthusiast of music, her interest in the world of film is just as strong. West Side Story, a musical written by Rita Moreno (1961), was the most influential film for her. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer was also an entertainer , as well as a Catholic schoolgirl, was a student for eight years of Holy Family Catholic Middle School in The Bronx. After a time of four years in the Bronx, she graduated from Preston High School, an all-girls preparatory school. Jennifer is a gifted athlete who was a part of the track and field as well as tennis in school, was an excellent pupil. The Castle Hill neighbourhood was her home for most of her life. Jennifer moved out of the house when she reached the age of 18 and moved into with her family. Lopez started working for a legal firm at work during the day, and then took on dance positions at night.
